While at the wheel shop today, the subject of chrome plating came up. The galvanic corrosion that exists in this world never sleeps & automotive wheels (and their finishes) are no exception :eek

Here is a pic of a performance rim that was chrome plated a few years ago - The Fella at the shop will have to totally strip the rim and he hopes there is still some good aluminum under there :eek

His suggestion was to high polish aluminum (wheels) versus chrome plating since the tarnished wheel that was polished could simply be re-buffed to its high luster :cool

If you have chrome rims on your Callaway, make sure you keep them nice and clean :upthumbs

Very good info, I have to agree. I have also found, especially on the older aluminum wheels, that after a number of years, the clear coat has a tendency
to yellow. The "Wheel Shop" suggested to strip off the clear coat and use a good quality aluminum polish occassionaly to retain the high luster on the aluminum wheels.
