I see that there was an option for a telescopic steering wheel back in the days. What is a telescopic steering wheel and what is the difference from a regular steering wheel? Also a side question what is the top speed for a 67 L88?

The tele steering wheel adjusts towards you to give you more adjustment range . . same as on many new cars. The top speed ( and we'll get some discussion here) of the 1967 L88, dependant on rear end, was 172 mph while the small block was estimated at 138. The disclaimer here is those numbers are only as good as my source and not based on personal experience!!

143 with a small block in Montana during Reasonable and Prudent speeed limit years.

The tele column has a large chrome hand nut at the horn button. To adjust the other columns in or out 2-3 inches, follow the procedure in the Chassis/Factory Service manual.
