Runs Like A Scalded Cat LT4 CE
Brought home my new LT4 with 80k miles. Temp here in Texas today was 100 degrees. Got stuck in stop and go for about 30-45 minutes where the water temp rose to about 220-225. Got out to pick up my dry cleaning and she got to 230. Runs about 210 around town, however. Does that sound too hot? And is it possible to cool the cabin with the smoked top on a hot day or is it just too hard on the AC to catch up with the sun shining bright into the cabin?

Man, she runs like a scalded cat!

Congrats on your purchase, you will love it. Your temps sound about normal for those conditions. Mine runs about 196 while moving and creeps up pretty fast when you stop. Fans kick on about 228-230. If you put ac on fans should run all of the time and keep it alittle cooler. Tough to keep cabin cool in 100 degree weather w/ glass top. Mine will catch up after awhile but it ussually doesn't get that hot around here. Enjoy your car, Guy

I agree your engine temps were fairly normal. Maybe a little on the high side, but still okay.

Look under your car at the radiator... check this every so often (like once a month)... our cars are very low, and they do pick up debris that blocks the radiator. There are actually two units there (the front one is for your air conditioning). Leaves and stuff got caught between the two... try to get out whatever you can.

As for the air conditioning... it was recently 102 degrees around here... and I also have the glass top. My air conditioning had no trouble at all keeping it perfectly cool inside. I actually forgot how scorching it was outside until I got out of the car again.

Of course, it will be nice and toasty when you get back in after it's been sitting in the sun. But the air conditioning brings it back down to perfectly cool in a minute or so. I like to pop the rear hatch for a few seconds when I'm going to get into the car... it ejects the heat nicely. And then it gets back to cool in only a few seconds.

If your air conditioning isn't able to keep up, it may need a freon recharge or something. These cars have potent air conditioning units. Or at least mine does?

Those temps are safe..........however, if you want to lower them, i would suggest a lower thermostat.....If that solution isn't to your liking, you can buy and install a new fan limit switch......any after market supplier handles both items. Mid-America, Eckler's, etc.
