I am replacing the center plastic bezel, the one with the water temp, oil, clock etc. gauges. Doing so I replaced all of the bulbs with new long life bulbs. Testing things before putting it all back together and I have two problems. None of the lights are coming on, and the water temp gauge kinda seems to be stuck. After idling for 15 minutes or so it has only come up about 1/8" off the left side. I'm quite certain the engine was much hotter. The fuses are good. I've checked things over and all seems to be right. All was working before I went in to it. Does anyone have any suggestions??
:w

The lights have to be installed in the bezel to work. I guess its a ground issue. I had the same thing happen when I replaced mine.

The bezel is completly togeather, and I just have the wire hirness plugged into the back. The bezel assembly is just seating there. I wanted to make sure all was working before I screwed it in place. I also have the small wire for the little light that points down toward the ac control plugged in also. ????

What color is the wire for the small light pointing down on the ac/heater control panel. I actually have my center console out as I write this, and I can't seem to find that wire.

As for the gauges, I replace all my bulbs and printed circuit, with no problems. Is your printed circuit in good shape? Sounds like you may have a grounding issue.

I don't remember the wire color but I will look tomorrow and let you know. It will have a connector on the end of it which connects to the connector/ wire at the bulb and bezel. Yes, the printed circuit looks good. I even used some contact cleaner with a Q tip and cleaned just the area of copper that made contact, to be sure it was clean. Do you remember any wires any place else they may be causing a possible grounding problem? Maybe something I'm missing??
Thanks,

This may sound dumb, but are you sure the connector is in properly? It will go in upside down. Just a thought since none of the bulbs are working.

That's a thought, but I did mark it before I unplugged it. I'm pretty certain it's right, but worth a recheck....

if you look at the pig tail/plug one of the tabs is WIDER than the other. hope this helps:bang
