Has anyone used this stuff before for their models?

It's really cool stuff! You can make custom decals with an inkjet printer, shoot them with a clear coat, and then water slide transfer them onto your model. I've made some really neat decals with it for the last 8 months.

Here is a sample. The model slot truck below has a vintage '80s-90s truck livery from a North Carolina textile company.

where did you get the paper?

Hobby Lobby carries it and so do other large retailers.

Tower Hobbies has it for the cheapest price I've seen-

Testors sells a kit- which is a CD-ROM, clear coat, and a couple of decal sheets. Reviews are mixed on their CD, so I used Microsoft Power Point instead and it worked just fine.

Another example... took forever to get the decal color to match the paint though.:chuckle

Cool! :cool That turned out great!

The decal paper seems to be a handy item for modelers to keep in their toolbox. I've always enjoyed viewing models - planes, trains and automobiles - and I've built a few planes and cars myself over the years.

My dad has all my old model planes in a case at home and the cars went to my nephews.

I've wanted to use the stuff but my main concern is whether the decals conform to curves. I hate Revell decals because they don't conform to the curves of a model too well or they tend to crack or pull up when they dry. Tamiya decals are the best IMHO.

also do they come in clear? that would make it so much easier to colormatch (leave background painted parts clear). If they did, I would be buying the stuff up for some of my models

Yep... comes in clear. The letters NCVA are on a clear decal sheet-

Goes around curves too. Check out the lettering on the cement mixer-
