Gone but not forgotten
It was a very good experience with the DynoStore yesterday. It's a new shop that opened in the San Fernando Valley - Chatsworth, CA to be precise.
Jeff and Michael spent a lot of time with me, around three-and-a-half hours all in all, and I left with around twenty-five more horsepower than I went out there with.
It wasn't quite what it should be, going on my builder's estimate, but if you take into account the fact that the outside temperature was around 96°F, it's sure to give higher readings at lower temperatures. As a matter of fact, while trying different things, we unhooked the air cleaner and ran it straight to the throttle body with no filter. The horsepower reading dropped by 20 horsepower due to the fact the air was coming from behind the hot radiator. We hooked it back up and the readings came right back to where they should be. At any rate, I’m satisfied for now.
I would recommend the shop to anyone looking for a dyno tuner in Southern California; Jeff seems to know his stuff.
By the way, my peak horsepower and torque readings came in at 428 horsepower and 447 ft-lbs of torque, with the torque average at 430 ft-lbs - pretty flat straight across the board.
I'm pretty sure there's more to be found given a better (cooler) day. :cool
