Do you think they should go, or should be included in the C6?

At the moment I am undecided. On one hand, I think they are a very cool staple of the Corvette, giving it some character. I have always liked the Corvette because it has excellent performance, and yet driveability and real-world attributes as well. The bottom line is, a sports car is supposed to be fun. I think they add to Corvette's mysterious and sporty appeal.

I think the all-out supercars lack a lot of personality. They are simply the result of physics---whatever is lightest and fastest.

Yet I have heard people say the flip-ups are heavy and inefficient as far as using space. If they really are holding Corvette back, then I think they should go. But I would like them to stay if it is at all possible.

I think Corvette should have hide away lights but, GM does not as the way it looks now.

Not gonna happen. The C6 will not have pop-ups.:v

Pop-ups cost more . I figure thats the real reason they're being eliminated . Cliff

If the pic is anything like the new C-6 would be then I like the no pop up design. I realize I am one of the very few that likes this style and I am bucking tradition, but it gives the car a cleaner sleeker look IMO. :v

I agree with Randy; I like the "photoshop" picture of the C6 headlights. I love the looks of my Vette, however I personally do not like the looks of my '02 when the headlights are on; I find myself delaying turning on the headlights as long as I can. Again, this is another of those personal tastes!:v

I've always liked the looks of the consealed lights. Open, they become "Air brakes" and are not attractive. The C-4 lights looked somewhat acceptable when open. The mechanism for the pop ups adds weight. The photo shop picture looks good - aggressive but not Japaneese and SAVES WEIGHT! But get used to:
1. buying a lens protector film to fend rocks away.
2. relpacing the plastic lens every 4-5 years here in the southwest (So Cal.). My boss's Supra's lenses were a foggy yellow before his 4 year lease was up. Imagine Az, Nv, NM.

As long as they don't make them look like an aftermarket conversion for a C5 and they DO make them like the Photoshop yellow vette - I'm ok with them. :v

I don't like the body style of the c5 the pic. of that c6 I love no pop ups

keep pop-ups

Weight or no, they are unique to corvette, like 4 tail lights
have been for the last 35 years. They would make the C6 corvette easy to spot as a corvette.

Pop-ups

I like the photoshop pic and most people have a hard time with change, but just like the seasons it's inevitable. True die-hards have to respect the fact that the first vettes didn't have pop-ups. So for me old schools flavor for new school fools cast keeps you jumping like kangaroos. When it hits the streets people will be jumping all over it as always. It's an icon no matter how you slice it. The only thing I would want is the Corvette plate on the nose instead of all that open space.

OH YEAH....... I like the new yellow Vette's headlights OK. If the real thing is anything like that, I'd say it is still a Corvette look.

You are talking about the yellow vette in Blocker44's sig right? Its a Tiger Shark C5 i think.

and i like the looks of the hidden lights, and it cant hurt performance that bad could it? i think Chevy should of made the light optional, like u could pick what kind you want, then everyone would be happy :upthumbs

No Pop Ups!!!

I have to agree that the pop up headlights are a thing of the past, and we have to move ahead inorder to get a cleaner design.

The new C6, will really date the C4's thru the C3's. The C2's and C1's are in another class.

All l want from Corvette is a trouble free car, that will hang with the other marque cars.

The workmanship and materials used on the present Corvette's, leave allot to be disired.

But being a vette nut, l tend to look the other way.

flip up is best....but

it looks like they are going to be fixed.:bash

We have all seen many beautiful vettes (C1 thru C5). Some with in-the-open headlights, some hidden. This question can only be answered by our reaction to the new design. Not every car with hidden headlights has been beautiful. If the vette steps away from pop-ups today, whose to say it won't return some day. One of the concepts has a slit for headlights that looks to be no more than 1-2 inches wide at its widest. That look is almost hidden.

However, the treatment shown by Motor Trend and Road & Track looks hideous. Let's hope the designers / engineers.

...oops. Lets hope the designers / engineers get it right.

I might get flack here, but i dont find that yellow "photoshop" pic very exciting at all. I am sure someone spent many hours on it, but it gives the corvette an an "after market" conversion kit look? Making it seem cheap in someway.

If the fixed head lights are for real, then i really hope they make them befitting the corvette. Not like a rice rocket looking kit front nose.

Like sothpaw said, they make the car unique, as do the quad tail lights. I really think the hidden pop-up head lights should stay, weight or not (what are we talking about a few lbs?) The sleak, clean look of them makes up for the weight argument.
