...without air.

Big engine; headers; side exhaust; black interior; no air. What does all that add up to? A day at the beach....

.... except I'm not at the beach. ;)

I took a thermometer along for our Sunday afternoon cruise. It was 82F outside and, after 20 minutes, 93F inside (with the windows down and the vents open).

Better drive faster. :gap

Hey 67,
Come drive your car in sunny, humid South Florida without A/C ...that my friend will definitely not be fun.

I've got vintage A/C in my sb coupe...I don't leave home without it!

Bob

I would look in JC whitney to see if they have those old swamp coolers that you would put ice in and hang it from a window, and as you driving it catches the air, runs it across the ice, then discharges it into the car.

JC whitney was my favorite book when I was young and I do remember them having it.

93 degrees will make you sick on a long drive.

If we trailer it you can ride in the air conditioned Tahoe!;LOL Like that's going to happen right? As you said a million times "It's a driver and dammit I'm going to drive it!" But mark my words the cold beer will sure take a hit when you get there!:beer Those driving past you might be more confortable in their cars with a/c but you'll have a lot bigger smile!:D :lou

Driving a non-A/C coupe in summer heat is cruel and unusual punishment. I love it. There's a name for that human condition....

I know this in off subject but, Hey 67heaven, Did you sort out the fuel pump problem?

I figured that I woud never buy a coupe again but I picked up an air coupe and I love it. THere is nothing lie turnign that knob and having colg air on the leggs. oWEN

hot temp

Hello 67
Do you have anything like dyna-mat in your car, or anything to help the heat retention? Anyone know of what the best thing to use for heat retention without going to air conditioning?
take care

Tom,

I bought the model-specific kit from ZIP and I don't think it made much difference. I'm making a list of adjustments for next winter's down-season. On that list will be a more thorough effort at reducing heat. The problem with the kit is that it leaves far too many gaps. I didn't have time to overcome the problem this time out, but the pressure will be off next winter.

:w

Bab
may I ask why you didn't decide to add A/C to your car during your rebuild?
You sure have enough power with that motor that any slight loss with the A/C on can't make too significant of a difference :)
maybe it doesn't get quite as hot and humid up where you are compared to down here on the mid-atlantic east coast

Rather then install all the gack needed for A/C ..Below is a much more stylish way to stay cool in your Midyear. All that is needed is a small pump and a cooler stored in the rear deck area filled with Ice Water Or.. Ice Beer In the Canadian Model.

The Cool liquid is then pumped thru the unit or in the Canadian model ....a "T" valve is installed so some of the liquid can be diverted to the mouth .......

Excelllent solution. I have these cold pack vest we give to our guys who are working in hot attics. They have chemical bags in them that you throw in a cooler to recharge.they last about 4 hours in real heat 120 degrees or so.

Something about this guy just doesn't seem cool.

Maybe it's the color? Now silver metallic would scream COOL!:L
Just do what the NASCAR boys do. Put a big bag of ice in your lap.

Where was this info in time for the trip?

I'd love to have jumped out of the car, at the Baymont, wearing this stuff. ;LOL
