Wow ! You weren't kidding. Lots of cool vintage pics. Too bad you can't copy them'.:cry

Yea the wheels arent exactly era correct......but then they arent the same ole same ole....pretty nice actually

A very interesting concept, but it really doesn't light my fire. You certainly can't complain about the ad not describing everything in detail.

You can't right click and do a "Save Image As..."?

Based on the length of the ad, and all the information they are trying to make reference to (i.e grouping the "new" GS with the old ones), I would imagine that the reserve is quite high. Maybe as high as 6 figures.

holy crap, good thing I have a broadband connection or I'd still be waiting for the page to load! They have more pics of the old GS cars in that ad than they do of the car they are selling.

I'm pretty sure that if you went to see the car in person you wouldn't see as much of it as is pictured in this auction. :W

I heard the the chop top version shown ..was not to aero friendly...And it had a tendency to lift at the front end.......

Comments...???

Not just the chop top.

Here's Mickey Thompson's #3 Z-06 running Daytona on February 16, 1963.

Looks like they're trying to use the headlight buckets as wing flaps and the hood just wants out of there. ;LOL I forget who the other driver was. I'm trying to imagine hauling ass around the turns at those speeds on those tires. :crazy

The Pic does show the fendor wells cut out on the #3 car.... Could the tires be wider then the 6X75's??.........Hard to tell from the pic. Plus.......I wonder what the largest tire of the day was back then.??

I wasn't thinking so much about tire size, but rather that they were bias-plies. Radials were many years away.

I'll bet that the hood is held open at the rear to allow an excape for all of that air going in through the radiator. '63s didn't have functioning side vents like the '65-'67s so there had to be a lot of pressure under there helping to lift the car. Too bad we can't ask Mickey if the headlight and hood trick helped any.

I can't imagine driving that car at over 100 MPH with that front end..tires and traped air under the hood. I guess that's where the term Having a set Of "Brass Ones" came from.....:D

I get nervous and jerky around 80 MPH with my 65 Rat Wagon...:L
