As long as there are engineers, there will be fast cars. We employ interns and their desktops are performance car oriented. The problem is GM, Ford, Chrysler has to charm them back with performance, handling, style, quality, and economy from abroad.

"Detroit" needs the auto barons back; men who say “I’m going to kick his ass on the racetrack, I don’t care what it costs.” or what the accountants say. ROI or ROA take care of themselves with marketshare.
The results of today's world of politicians and bean counters is obvious.
