Would anybody know how to remove the old black silicone material under the weather stripping on the t tops. I need to remove this to apply my new weather stripping.
Thank you

are they glass or fiberglass???

They are glass. I'm not sure if
the inside is paint on the glass.
Thank you

I would try a razor blade first.put it in a pair of vice grips so you don't cut yourself...
make sure it doesn't gouge or cut you tops....
you may also want to try brakekleen sprayed on a rag.

Thank you Bill. This adhesive has cured hard. It is so old that it is no longer pliable. I read an article on using Goo Gone to help restore it. That is my next step. I'll keep you updated and please let me know if you have any other suggestions.
Thank you

Ok. ..here is my solution.
I did use a razor blade to separate the vertical edges of the trim. The rest of the removal was done with a Dremel tool with a sanding drum. The
compound was as hard as tire rubber. It took awhile but the results were good.
Goo gone didn't do much because the compound was so hard.
As always....thank you for your suggestions and note onto the next project.
