I put in new weatherstripping and shims on the 77 fiberglass tops and I still see no way to get the front to sit down flush. You can see a slit of daylight all the way across the front of each of them. The rest of the weatherstripping seems to be a pretty decent fit the rest of the way around. It almost looks like the pin that fits in on the front is too big for the hole because without any latches fastened, or the two tabs attached, etc. (and me just pushing it down and in place to how I think it should fit), it doesn't really close the front gap. I don't have to make up much to close this gap and just brainstorming here, but I wonder if I could run a thin strip of doublesided tape below the new weatherstripping just across the front of each top? It would act like a shim and may close this gap. Anyone got any opinions or ideas?

There is a caulking sponge that is made for this, you put it in between the T-top and the weatherstrip. This will help you to seal the gap unless it is really a large gap.
I work for an automotive supplier that makes weatherstrips for cars so I have used it on my 1980 and it did the job for me. We have supplied a lot of weatherstrips for t-tops and convertibles back in late 80 & 90's and this was the only way to seal them due to the variations in the frames.

Good Luck

Thanks for the reply! It isn't a very big gap to close at all, just consistent across the front. Any idea where I can find caulking sponge? It sounds like exactly what I need.
