Okay, tell me if you agree...

I took off the bell housing, unbolted the pressure plate and clutch disc. Well, it turns out that a clutch disc spring is off and floating at the bottom of the assembly.

So I'm guess this is the culprit to my clutch problem?

Woohoo!! :D So glad I found it. I had this bad feeling in my stomach that I would get it all apart and everything would be fine. But, this isn't fine. :) Sheesh!! :D

BTW, if you don't know about my clutch problem, it's all explained here: http://corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44669

So it was wedged between your clutch plate and the pressure plate and that is why it wouldn't dis-engage.
Sand those bellhousing pins down a little to remove the corrosion, that will allow it to slip back on nice and easy.

Success, success!
Get your new parts on and get that car back on the road!
I want to hear about your first ride!

Good News

Now remember, NO :bu until after you break the clutch in;LOL

Lou, are you serious? :D Should I really hold off on chirpin' the tires until after a little time with the new clutch? Or are you kidding..? It's hard to tell with you!! :D

WAY TO GO! Very glad to hear you got to the source finally!

Been holding my breath(between Margaritas) for ya down here on the beach!

Congrats -

Well.............

Some manufacturers do recommend a break in period. Read the instructions that come with it.;)

I usually go easy on a new clutch for 50-100 miles before I hammer it; gets the fuzzies and sharp edges off the friction material and conditions the flywheel surface. Check your new clutch instructions to see if they have recommendations.

Glad you found the problem!
