Thinking of Selling C4 for C5

The oil consumption issue is not confined to the Z06, just some info.

I traded my '91 in on an '03 Z06 in January. Like Warren, I experienced an initial period of shock/disbelief/denial (what had I just done?) that lasted perhaps a week. Then I got my first chance to really take it for a ride. After that, I have had no regrets.

The C5 was an appropriate advancement of technology over the C4. That said, the C4 will be forever engrained as a true competitor (especially among the LT4 and ZR-1 enthusiasts), and there's nothing wrong with that. For me, it comes down to the design, and the more I time I spend with the C5, the happier I am with it.

Hope this helps.

I too am looking to turn in my C4 for a C5 or C6.I test drove a couple of C5's and I liked the experience. It is a different ride but one that I like.I tried the '03 anniversary edition and loved the mag. ride. The main reasons I would give for wanting to change my Vette are: more horsepower:D ....smoother ride at regular driving speeds(on account of my aging :L )....trunk space :upthumbs .....cd changer(a must).....pop-up lights(I can't let go of them yet).....and last but not least overall better car in regards to technology.....I really cannot stand that plastic back window that is still on my Vette.......as for wanting to keep mine well anywhere I go the color gets looks and I can't let it go....I wish I could keep it AND buy another.I hope this helped you 'cause it didn't help me any.;LOL

Does this mean if I buy the car and it is not consuming oil, that later on I won't have any problem in this area? Or is this something that I have to keep an eye on after I buy the car?
If it doesn't consume now then it won't. I have an 01 6spd. In addition moving to 10w-30 helps with the issue. Haven't had any major issues and only now replacing the shocks at 70k (I had f45).

Never had any problem with oil consumption. I would take my 01 over my 93 any day of the week. Not even close. Speaking of 01's, I am looking to buy a 65, and can't afford both. I would like to sell this one. If your deal falls through, let me know if you would be interested in this one. If you would be interested I will give you more info.

Loved my 94 C-4, got an unbelievable deal on an 01 coupe. Haven't looked back since.

It's an evolution of a great car. Maybe because I'm getting older, but the ride of the C-5 is so much smoother without an appreciable drop in handling.

Haven't had any oil problems, but it is something I am going to watch more closely.
