I noticed with my new '04 that there is a slight ticking sound from the engine compartment when the engine is warmed up and I'm cruising at about 2000RPM. Is sounds like a lifter or valvetrain noise. Somedays is a little louder than others, and somedays it's not there. It has just over 1000 miles on it.

Does anyone else have this?

Thanks,

Dave,
Entirely normal for the Z car. You'll hear the valve train and trans noises and even differential sounds. The cacophony of race car sounds is, in part, due to the limited amount of insulation that helped save weight on the Z06 and the fact that has one powerful motor.

I agree. Mine does the same thing. Get louder exhaust and then you won't hear it as much. ;)

Totally normal noise. It will be louder on colder days.:beer

Dave, when did you get the Z06? Nice machine. Maybe I need to make it down to the cruize-in to check it out. :)
