Tonight I began to change my power antenna. The only thing I had done at this point was jack up the car. Around this point I heard a rapid ticking noise coming from the interior. Not knowing what it was I continued to take out the old antenna.
After I was finished (and the ticking noise continued) I felt the passenger side dash and could feel a light tapping coming from behind it and synchronous with the ticking sound.
The ticking finally stopped when I tried to start the car and found the battery was so dead it wouldn't start and the dash lights were extremely dim.

Any ideas?

Do you really have to jack up the rear of the vette to change the antenna???????
Let me know...
thanks
tony

Depends on how you want to get at it. For me, I took off the left rear wheel and plastic wheel well. Then reached up from beneath (and you know how low these cars are). I don't have a hoist in my garage, so yes...I jacked it up.

Was told by a mechanic that there is a package of relays behind the pass/dash.
that cause the ticking. Heard the same thing when my battery gave up the ghost last week.
