I've been doing alot of searching on this site and tirerack.com for run-flat replacements for my 2K convertible. Not happy with Goodyear OEM tires, but haven't found a run-flat tire as a replacement to the OEM either. I thought Michelin made a run-flat, but couldn't find it. I'm also sort of confused on whether tires other than Goodyear F1 EMT's will cause sensor damage (short out over time) or no pressure indication period. Anyone using run-flats other than OEM?? I don't really trust running non run-flat because of the fear of being stranded and because of the sensor failure issue. Help anyone??

I put Z06 GY Supercar tires on my C5 and the sensors are fine. There are enough people on the forums using other runflats like Yoko and Michelin to show there is no problem with them as well.

I've never had a problem with my sensors failing using BFG G-force tires. Non-run flat by the way. I carry a cell phone, AAA membership card, and repair kit if needed. I've needed them so far because of tire failure.

I ditched the run-flats ASAP. Best thing I ever did. Many good non-run flats out there, I have had great luck (and traction) with the BFG G-Force. While I'm sure there are better run-flats than your stock tires, I still do not think any can compare to the non-run flats. I'd never go back to run-flats at this point. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback guys! Can anyone reply back to the Michelin and Yoko run-flat tire model they are using. I was on the Tirerack.com site and I didn't see a run-flat by Michelin?? Also, if you are using Michelin run-flats, are you happy with them and how many miles are you getting out of them. Thanks.

Jeff

One other thing, has anyone tried the Kumho Ecsta MX run-flat? Tirerack.com sells these for $159 (front) and $217 (rear). That's about $500 cheaper for a set of 4 compared to OEM Goodyear run-flats and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S run-flats!

I have the Michelin PilotSport A/S ZP Runflats. They are light years ahead of the stock G/Y's in terms of quietness, smoothness, bumpsteer (or lack thereof) and predictability.

I have yet to suddenly find myself facing in a direction other than where I wanted to go with these tires (can't say that about the GoodYears). These tires give you plenty of warning before they break loose - unlike the stock GY's.

I put on the michelin pilot run flats.there are so quiet & look good I am very happy

Put a set of Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season Zero Pressure (run flats) on mine and I am very pleased not only with the ride quality but the reduced noise.
