Timing 90-L98 engine?

Ok I took out the Hypertech chip and re-attached battery. HEI is disconnected also. I am ready to go. Whats the best setting? +3 or 0 or what. Timing light hooked up and I am ready to go. Engine up to normal temp. Lets go Zooooooooooom.

I believe the L-98 calls for 6 degrees BTDC for base timing. 84 CF 91 ZR-1

The L98 base timing is set to 6* BTDC from the factory. If you are looking for maximum performance though that will require use of an ECM scanner to monitor and knock counts you get with added timing. I would set it to 6* BTDC for now and see how she goes.

My timing guide has marks that look like this, the red mark is the mark on the damper.

Does this indicate 6* BTDC, the mark is nowhere near the guide.
