Do I time the 427 tripower the same as I would a small block. The chiltons manual calls for 4 degrees btd, 2 I have read previos post and Lars timing for peak performance article. Do I follow the same procedure 34-36 degree total timing ?

I'd Say So

Timing is timing, there's a lot of engine's that use the same degree's and small or big block makes no difference, it's what the basic factory setting is and then making any adjustments to that if you have a modified engine. I don't have a degree mark indicator in my timing chain cover, I do it by ear. Once I get it where I think it's close, I take it out and run it advancing or retarding it a very little at a time until it's where I want it. If your stock, start from there and try it.
