Timing on a bb

OK I’m setting the timing 8 deg BTDC. But the marking have no numbers just hash marks. So can I assume each hash is 1 deg? Plus is it supposed to be 8 deg BTDC?

Which BB do you have?

My 66 (427/390) is 4° @ 550 RPM with each hash mark 1°.

The 66 427/425 is 8° @ 800 RPM.

Remember to disconnect and plug the vacuum advance when taking these readings.

Each mark on the timing tab is two degrees.
