Tinting windows

Just wanted to get some opinions on tinting windows. I have always wanted mine bone stock like it rolled off factory floor, but have been thinking about tinting windows. May look weird with mirror tops on red 81 tho.

I would leave it stock

Depending on how dark I would leave it as is...jusy my opinion

Tint!

it will not look wierd...but look at the local and state laws first...or you will be dogged to no end. other than the law, i think all generation vettes look sweet tinted.mine are limo dark, so backing up is difficult...however mine gets 3000 miles per year and most of those are forward!

tinting good. my side windows are done, back needs it.

I'm liking that silver looking tint i've been seeing. Thats probally what i'll do when i get there.

I ordered the tint plastic insert for the rear window. I had one in an '80 years ago. They are fairly easy to pop in and out for cleaning. As for the side windows, the only ones I've tinted were the C4's I've had..

I think it will look good with black trim, etc on the 81. I guess I used to want everyone to see me when I was younger. Now I want a little privacy and less sun. I can always take the tops off and row windows down when I want sun.

Only Problem with tinting back window

My Viper Red 78 has black tinted windows all around and they really look good against the red color and black trim pieces.

The only thing to keep in mind is that on the rear window the tint has to be put on in strips since it is not wide enought to fit in one piece. I am planing on one day to try the one piece plastic insert mentioned by rare81.

I think you'll like the looks of tinted windows and it also keeps the hot sun from fading the carpets.

i tinted the side windows and rear glass of my 74. in sc, 27% le is as dark as you can get legally...since the summers here are hot and my a/c doesnt work, i wanted to tint my windows to help partially keep my vette cool...my interior is black and since the car is so low, the tint appears to be darker than it really is. imo...i think the tint looks good...

On Mt 73 I Just Tinted The Back With 20% Show Thru,it Made The Side & Front Look Darker.

Tinted Windows

Drivign myn 85 Vette to Florida during a hot September and found that the Airconditioner just wouldn't satisfy my desire to stay cool, therefor applied the tinted material purchased from Lowes and immediately felt the difference inside temperature. I wasn't to concerned about the choice of colors.
