I have a 94 and the dude I bought it from has 2 different size tires on the back can someone please tell me what size tires are supposed to be on the front and the back?
thanks

Original Equipment Front 255/45-17
Original Equipment Rear 285/40-17

You could look on the drivers side door also...It has a sticker that tells what tires are original and blah blah blah...

The guy may have tried to rotate the tires, which can't be done (unless ZO7 equipped) So, check the wheels and tires. The smaller wheels should be up front, bigger int he rear. Original equipment for the rear is 285/40/17 as stated, but a 275/40/17 works just as well and are much easier to find. (275's were original equipment on 89-92 on all four corners plus ZO7 and Z51 'vettes.)

Are the wheels different from the front and back or just the tires?
thanks

The wheels are different also. The fronts with the smaller tires are 8.5" wide and the rear with the bigger tires are 9.5" wide on a stock 94 base suspension. ie, no Z51 or Z07.

Please excuse a stupid question.....I'm glad someone brought up this topic.

I have a 94 coupe with Z07.

My manual says I should have 17" on the front and 18" on the back but my car (which I bought last year) came with 4 identical Goodyear 17"s all round. It also says "do not rotate", e.g. run the tires were originally mounted until replaced.

Anyone know if I have the correct tires on my Vette?
