How to I go about hooking up a vacumn canister to assist with my brakes and headlights...running a .544 lift cam.........where to get the parts too:_rock ??

Thanks guys

Summit sells both vacuum resevoirs and vacuum pumps. It says the resevoirs have built in check vavles, so I think they would hook up between the carb and vacuum accessories, but the pump is 12V powered and I would assume you'd just connect power accessories to it instead of the carb. Looks like resevoirs are starting at $34 and the pump setup (made by SSBC) is $260.

I would recommend that you get a vacuum pump from a local junkyard. You can find them in mid eightys Cads. and Olds.
I used a vacuum cannister with my 300/310 duration cam and was not happy overall. It had great brake pedal when you had been driving down the road, but if you were in stop and go traffic at idle speeds only it would leave me with a weak brake pedal.
