Corvette
1967 Marlboro Maroon Coupe, 1992 White Convertible
Looking at 92 convertable, auto, lots of options, new tires and battery

great condition, 44,000 miles - $17,000, a private seller.

How's this price? A lot of the printed materal is at about $15,000

The Corvette Price Handbook lists a 'excellent condition' 92 vert at 16,900.
Roger's Corvette (http://www.rogerscorvettecenter.com) has 3 verts in the 22,900 area (his cars a very low mileage and in just about perfect condition.
NADA (http://www.nadaguides.com) says high retail is 17,600.

You can try Kelly's Blue Book and Edmunds if you need more info.

You can't compare Rogers Corvette Center for pricing. He wants the sky for every Corvette he has for sale. Remember, it's not what people ask that determine value, it what they finally get for it.

Why don't you take the seller's $17,000 price and deduct for EVERYTHING you see wrong with it and don't be conservative about it, he's not. That will equalize the price vs. condition.

There are many of these for sale with that mileage.

The trouble is Roger gets what he's asking.

I just wanted to give a quick listing of prices and places to get them.

Another place to ask is your bank or credit union to see what they will loan on the car. That ought to give you an idea of the wholesale value.

There's a Roger or a ProTeam or what ever that will always get the top dollar some where near by. The one reason I'm really interested in this car is that it is a friend of a friend selling it. I haven't seen it yet, but I already know for certain what it is like. My friend has a '65, '78, and an '02 and knows his machines and assured me it is in excellent condition.

Tuna and the seller are in the same ballpark, could be where he got his info.

Thanks Guys..............

Wow! Rogers Corvette prices are through the roof. I have never seen so many low mileage vettes anywhere. Where does he find them?

Price's

When you start spending that kind of money, you would be better off with a 96, which is the best f the C4's by far.

For a couple of $'s more, look at a 97 & 98 coupe.

Alan

p.s. any vette is going to cost you at the beginning.

I agree, if your gonna spend over $15k on a C4 (non-ZR1/GS) get the 96 and try to find the LT4. The LT4 will hold/gain value and is alot more rare. A low mileage LT1 just isnt a good buy at anything over $15k unless it is a 30th car or a pace car.

Just my opinion. :)

:( Way to high......shop around.......you will find alot better for that amount.

I paid 16,500 for my 95 vert in excellent shape about 5 months ago. It had 59,000 miles on it. For the your 92 I would say 14k to 15k would be about right. Verts hold their resale value better than coupes and will on average cost about 3k to 4k more.

Wait for a C5....

I agree with Kingman.....Spend a few K more and get a 97 or 98.

I purchase my 97 for $18,000 in excellent condition with 75K miles out of Dallas. Over the last 6 months, EBAY have in this same price range, even as low as $15K for higher miles. I would be patient and get a C5 for the ride of your life!!!

Listen to Mike Todd

Patience!!

You will find the perfect vette, but wait and look around.

Remember, you will always see another vette after you find yours that's nicer and cheaper, but you have to draw a line somewhere or you will be vetteless.

Lets get one thing clear, a removable roof does not a convertible make and I already have a coupe.

I would hold out for a C5 but you are looking at almost double the $15K or so I expect to pay for this car. In addition in PA you pay the 6% sales tax every time you buy a car so that must be added in.

The consensus seems to be about $14-15K. I'll give that a whirl. Will make a hell of a Valentine's Day present for my wife, that's who it's for.

Car was in great shape, just needed a good cleaning. My wife loved it. Caved in, paid his price.

Was worth it just to respond to the question "What did you get your wife for Valentine's day?" with "A white Corvette convertible." Wonder how many of the ladies in the diamond ads would have rather had this than the shiny rocks?

She's worth it, the garage is filled with toys, 2 Vettes, 59 Impala, lifted 87 Chev PU, ATV, the daily drivers have to sit out side and there are no complaints. She likes to hunt and fish too!

Thanks for all the comments..........

Man, I'd love to have that Zora that Rogers has!!!!!!!! :dance

I'd pay the $39k :eek .....if I had it! :L
By the way, Congrats on your purchase, I'm sure she was happy!!! :beer

Check the Kelly blue book value, decide what you're willing to pay for it.
