Took Of Upper Control Arms, Which is L&R?

I took of the upper control arms, and was trying to figure out which one goes back on the Left and Right. Is it the straight edge that faces the front of the car which determines it? Please advise.

I'm just reassembling my car. I installed the uppers with the "straight edge" towards the back, the front edge has a small "L" shape by the ball joint.
When on the car the ball joint should more towards the rear.
If this is not clear I can send a picture.

Is there a part # stamped on them that you can find?If there is,if the last digit is even then its right,odd will be left.
