Just couldn't resist any longer. Went out and picked up a brand spanking new Torch Red 2004 coupe. After driving it around for a bit now, I realize I should've done this a loooong time ago.

You could not have made a better dicision. I owned a 1991 for 10 years and refused to drive a C5 knowing if I did I would have to have one. It wasn't untill I was in a position to be able to upgrade that I finally even test drove a C5.

Congrats,

Karl,

Congradulations your new C5 looks great. I bought mine four years ago and I've loved every minute of it. Unfortunately I'm starting to feel the C6 bug biting - I hope I can resist. Enjoy your new ride - it's a beauty.

I've got the urge to move up to a newer model also, good luck Karl.
so do you think I should skip over the C-4 and go to a C-5 ?;)

SWEEEEEEEEEET ! :D

I just bought my wife a mag. red '99 vert and we love it and yes she lets me drive it too. I still have my pair of '63s.

Good luck with the C5. We waited a long time too until we found a good used one.

Best Regards,
Mike

Hahaha, I wouldn't have missed owning my C4 for anything. The only reason I gots to sell it, is because she recently got an'04 Camry and sez no way is IT not going to be in the garage. And since it's only a 2 car garage....well, you get my drift?

I'm gonna miss that C4. I know you're probably kidding with your question, but the C4 is one helluva car. The C5 is just a "little" bit more refined, however, it just doesn't have that "cockpit feel" of the C4, heh, heh, heh.

As far as the C6 goes?.....not a chance. I am not at all pleased with the overall design. The C5's got it beat hands down.

Hmmm, maybe I could interest YOU in my C4, ya think? Since you have seen it and heard it.......

Boss,

After reading that "other" thread I thought you were considering making your C2 the "weekend warrior" and securing a C5 for the daily driving. Not a bad plan.

I'm just starting to look, I do like Karls 96 :cool I want something in a color that doesn't show dirt as I live in farm country. To bad the plates don't come with it;LOL I have a couple of bills to clear up first, but from what I hear the hunt is half the fun. There is a 99 coupe in the local paper but it is priced a little higher then I want to spend but I just may take a look at it.

Looks great!!!

[That is one sharp looking C5. I like it better than the C6 ... to tell you the truth. Congratulations and have fun. God Bless]

I just try to keep my 2001 looking brand new ... like to share some pics of my pride and joy.

your 04 is drop dead beautiful, Id love to see my 97 torch red next to it. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have. Owned since new and still to this day can hardly wait to drive it. I can't say that about any car i've ever owned.

I'm picking up my 97 C5 today ... Light Red Carmine Metallic. It's my first ... excited to join the Corvette family!!!!

Ya got good taste, MagikDraggin. Lots of women, including my wife, have told me the C5 is just outright Sexy. The guys don't go quite that far - they just say stuff like "that's one good looking car." Once I went to pick my wife up at Oakland airport, and some guy hollared out "Nice car!" But, they not only look great, they are great cars.

Good choice!

Congrats on your new ride. I couldn't resist any longer myself so we bought an 04 Torch Red/Black Top convert yesterday. I've been driving C4s for a good while and have waited since 1997 to buy a C5. We're loving it so far.

Man, you sure were lucky to find a Torch vert out there this late in the "game".

I got my coupe in Michigan (near Detroit) and they only had two others left and NO red verts. Lot's of commemorative Z06's though. Would've been nice, but the "boss" can't drive a stick and isn't interested in learning either.

I know what you mean by "enjoying it" so far. Any excuse to take the C5 out for a spin, heh, heh, heh.

We think alike!

I did the same thing; except that I bought a Torch Red 2002 coupe. I picked it up less than two weeks ago and I could not be any happier!
