Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

Top is done!

I would have prefered a white top, but StayFast is not made in white, and I did not want the original vinyl top material on this car.

John,

Oh...oh...oh, you solid-axle guys gotta stop building such beautiful cars. :eek

My budget can only stretch so far.

Bob,

Did you notice that last pic? A couple of Corvette buddies came by yesterday, and nothing would do until they dropped the LS2 into the project 65 chassis!
I still have not recieved the rear sump oil pan yet, so the engine won't set completely down in the chassis, but they just had to see it in there!
The good news is, that all the factory accessories will fit on this car, so that saves a very large ammount of money not having to buy the S&P drive and accessories like the 59 had to use. The Holden cast headers will also fit nicely, and I think that they will look nice when ceramic chrome coated, so I will save on buying headers on this one. I hope to have the new oil pan in before the weekend and maybe have the engine sitting on the mounts by the end of the weekend. I have got to find some time to fire up the milling machine at work this week and make some motor mount adapter plates to adapt the LS to the early GM motor mounts.

Regards, John McGraw

John it looks great. Dynamite color combo. Was wondering what you were up to lately. Did you dye your dash pad or is it custom made in the tan color? Or is it fawn beige?

John it looks outstanding.

I have one word for you ICE ,I am sure the ankle would like it.

I do have to say your a master of alot of trades.

NO WAY would I ever undertake installing a top.

Gary his dash pad is a custom leather to match his interiour

Nope, it is just some of the ultraleather, sewn up and glued to the top of a stock C1 pad. I will try and post some detail pics in the next week or two as I get the interior buttoned up and the car cleaned up and polished. The car is a real pigpen now with all the work going on around it.

Regards, John McGraw
