Torque Converter Lock up

I am wanting to disable the torque converter lock up on my 86 coupe. I know Mid America sells a kit to do this but after looking at the wiring diagrams it looks like an on off switch in series with the hot wire going to the brake pedal switch would do the same thing for a lot less than the thirty bucks they want. I just want to be sure I'm not missing some thing. I did do a search but did not see what I was looking for hope I didn't overlook it. Thanks in advance Charlie

If you want to completely disable the TCC lockup then you should just be able to disconnect the TCC interrupt switch on the brake pedal. It's a normally-closed switch that opens when you step on the brake, unlocking the TCC. Make sure you get the TCC switch and not the brake light switch!
