I know towing a corvette is sacrilege. I found myself in a predicament where I have to tow my 94 vette behind my motor home for about 300 miles. I have a six speed manual tranny and a car dolly. Does anyone know if you can tow the car in neutral and the key on acc so the steering does not lock? I don't want to hurt this beautiful car in any way. It has only 31000 original miles on it.

No way Jose......First it will be a bitch trying to load it and not damage anything..... then you will do damage to the 6 speed and possibly the rear end.......if you must tow use a trailer made to haul the car....

Trailoring

The only way I'd ever consider putting a Vette on a 2 wheel dolly would be the rear wheels on the dolly. Not having measured it, I'd suspect the front end would be scraping on the pavement at a minimum. Conventional trailer would be the only way to tow a Vette IMO. Have to agree with what's already been said.

Towed my 92 on a tow dolly to get it home . I had a problem with the wheel straps were a little small as I have a older tow dolly. I disconnected the rear U-Joint and
zip tied the drive shaft to hold it , my 92 has auto trans. Lock the steering wheel or it will not track behind the tow dolly. I have no knowledge on towing with a standard
transmission. A trailer is the best way to move your vette but a tow dolly will work.

towing 1990 to the repair shop

My car is stuck in park with a problem with the security system.

I will try to find a tow truck with a flat bed so will only need to pull the car up on the truck. Any problems to be aware of when I do this. The front wheels are straight so need to ensure they don't turn. The car is an automatic.

Appreciate any help you can give....

Right after buying mine last year I had a problem that required having my 86 flatbedded to my mechanic. The driver had carried more than one Vette before so he was prepared. He had some planks that went between the ground and the end of the flatbed so when the car was being pulled onto the flatbed (nose first) that it didn't tear off or damage the frontend of the car by lifting the car early. He also had some straps that he looped under the car to hook the end of the cable to so it also didn't tear up anything.
He had me steer while pulling it onto the flatbed, and steering and being there for the brakes if needed with unloading. It went well but I as much believe it was he knew what he was doing have hauled Vettes before. He said he got all the sports car calls for his employer.
