Well today I decided, hey time to change the trani fluid in that ole duug nash. So i went got my gear lube and all. I decided ehh why buy a funnel, I'll make one. (if you ever changed the fluid in a manual you know what a pain it is) I figured since it has the side filler hole, I'll take the top of a pop bottle and cut it off, then attach a piece of small garden hose to it so i can stick it in that side hole. Sounded like a great, cheap, do it-yourselfer kind of idea.
So I'm under there with the exhaust pipes, linkages, and stuff all in my way, i finally wiggle this contraption into place. I have the car all jacked up, wich you know still isn't much room to work. I have about 5 inches between myself and the car frame. I get this bottle of heavy weight lube up there and let it rest on the front of the trani while i reach for a paper towel. Keep in mind this is a HOMEMADE funnel. Well the pop bottle neck pops out of my hose, the bottle falls on me and now i have half a quart of lube on my face, and in my hair. I made new swear words today. quite a few of them actually.
Don't be cheap, a funnel with bendable spout is only a few dollars.
happy motoring
