1972 Corvette rebuild complete and driving
I am currently doing a frame off customization on a 72. One of the changes I am looking at is to replace my th400 with a th700r4 4 speed auto tranny. I have one in my 84 and like its performance. The question I have is I know the 84 has eletronics going to it. I have been told that the 700 R4 would shift fine without the eletronics (computer) being hooked up. Anyone have any comments as to its workability and possible problems??

Thanks. I checked the site out and have placed it in my favorites. Looks like it's everything that I needed.
Thanks

Sorry, No but I am an old retired and tired state employee that lives about 15 miles from Wellington.

I put a 700 r in my wife's 70 GTO. Only needs a hot wire to make the converter lock up. The trans builder must set this up internally. The trans is completely TV cable (throttle valve) controled. Read up on proper set up of the cable it is the most important thing. I had Phoenix transmissions in Weatherford Tx. build my transmission. They are one of the best companies I have ever have ever done business with. They can build the transmission to perform however you want.
