Got the car running GREAT. I decided to try out a HOLLEY EFI system. EXCELLENT SYSTEM. I absolutely love the product. Works great. Easy to set up and tune, and does autotune on top.

So now that I have that installed, everything working as it should....

The trans shift cable breaks. I have the entire center of dash apart but can't figure out where the hell the 3 screws are to get the cable out. The radio, climate control, and DIC are OUt. The plastic housing that holds them is riveted in, I can't see having to take the top of the dash off and drill out rivets.

Anyone ever do this? HELP! I read it's supposed to be an "easy job", and I'm sure it is, AFTER you get to those damn screws. It's a 700R4

This may be more informative then the Haynes

OH geeze, I guess the car was built around it. The instructions above say take out the seats, etc...

Sure, it's a piece of cake, once you disassemble 1/2 the car.

It's kinda like I tell my wife about shortcuts..... It's much faster once I get there....

There's a local corvette shop that will do it for $200. I'm considering throwing in the towel for this one.

I assembled and disassembled this entire car, at least twice, drivetrain anyway.....

I think it's time to write a check and just have it over with.

Hey VetteOz...shoot me an email.. jsupino@yahoo.com I may be down in AU in the next few months let me know where you are.

Because I don't have a lot of free time, I have to work on it when I have time.

I finally got that SOB out. Not as hard as I had feared. If I had to do it again, it would take 1/2 the time. Probably a 2 hour job now that I know how to do it.

It's not easy, simply because working in tight corners is tough, but it's pretty easy once you get there.... :D

Thanks for the information guys. VetteOz, that picture really helped me locate it since it was slathered 1/4 inch thick with some sticky shit, and I couldn't even see that far, since it covered the screws.
