Transmission Code, Where is it?

I am trying to figure out what tranny I have on my 1981 Corvette 4 speed. # I found # 1304065903 Letters W.G. DIV. Where do I look to find number to ID Tranny? What tranny should it be? Should it be a Muncie? I know the ID number starts with an M, where is it? Thank you, Gene

It's a Borg-Warner Super T-10, which was used in all 4-speed Corvettes starting in 1974. The tailhousing should have "13.04.066.905", and the side cover should have "13-04-097-901" on it. The B-W build date code is stamped vertically on the machined surface of the main case just rearward of the side cover, and all three pieces will also have casting date codes cast-in.

I have same #'s in my 77. Is that the same as a M21 and how can you tell if it is close ratio? Thanks!

The B-W Super T-10's have a painted code just below the side cover to indicate the ratios - "HS" is a 2.64 1st gear (wide ratio), "HW" is a 2.43 1st gear (close ratio). The close-ratio box (like an M-21) was only available with the L-82 engine.
