Transmission slipping in gear

Hi All,

I have a 1994 LT1 with the 4l60e. In 1st and 2nd gear it is fine, but in 3rd and 4th gear it slips. It shifts into each gear fine, but while in gear it barely has any connection and revs the engine with no power and will redline if I don't lay off the gas.
The fluid is fine.
Do you think it is the torque converter, or something else?

Thats the sad thing. I bought the tranny from someone who said it was a fresh rebuild and it has like 100 miles on it....
Unfortunately it was last year, and cash has been tight with the recession and now I have some cash and was going to get it looked at.
I have a mechanic friend who did the install last year, but I can't impose on him to do it again for me.
