I've seen these wheels on several vettes, 15 spoke.
I'd like to put them on my '77.
Does anyone have dimensions for this wheel? Are they the same as my rallye wheels?
Thanks

I had a set of those on my '88 Camaro. They were identical, measured 15x8 (which are what my Vette Rallyes measure) and came off a wrecked '72 Vette. The ones I had were made by American Racing, but I forget the series name....something like "Fury II".

Hope this helps somewhat

i just restored a set from my 75. mine are western wheels and are 8.5 x 15 this is written in the rim itself.i used a ford color (ssshhh...) dark titanium for the insets , gold just didn't do it for me. mike

Ark, i have the same wheels on mine! fittment is perfect, no clearance issues.
after the BIG BLOW i can send you pictures of the wheels done in flat black with the spokes polished

Excellent.

Robin, I'd like to see a close up of what you've done.
I hope Frances doesn't do too much damage down there.

Robin,
Just bumping this to the top...hope you made it thru the Hurricanes safely.
Now, how about a close-up of those wheels?

I've ordered mine, and they should be here this week...(hopefully).

Anyone else with some ideas?

Thanks!

ArkShark, Where are you ordering your wheels from? Thanks, Chiller

Ok, "ordering" isn't exactly what I did.
I found a guy who had some that was willing to sell, so I purchased them off him.

However, where I was originally looking was www.corvettejunkyards.com
Check out the parts section. Thats where I found that wreck (the picture at the top of the page). They are located north of St. Louis, but they quoted me $250 for all 4 wheels. (not including shipping).

I am not sure of a supplier that has these new.

Ark, thanks for reminding me. i'll try and get a digital tomorrow morning. we have JEANNE heading this way. projectiong having it hit our coast sometime sunday. i may have time to post them Sat evening.
sorry about forgetting. between the 'canes' and tile projects i am losing it!

Chiller, are you looking for the same kind of wheels?

Hang in there Robin and family!

Time to batten down the hatches...again (if you only had a nickel for every...)

Semper Fidelis,
Culprit

ark email me, and i'll send the pictures. they are to big for attachments or picture hosts. i don't have a program to re-size them.

sorry

Robin

p.s ..Culprit, i am getting really skilled at this batten down hatches. should have been a sailor!

ARK did you get the email with the pictures?

Chiller, you never said if you're looking for the same wheels. just wondering , because it would give me a better excuse for 'new' wheels

Yes, I got your pictures, thanks!

AND, I got my wheels! Well, half of them, anyway. The other box got separated and they won't arrive for a few more days.

How did you paint your wheels? Paint the whole wheel, put it on the car, jack it up in drive, and sand off the paint from the front surfaces?
Or just do all that by hand?

Ark, call me silly, but i did them by hand with a few sponge brushes. had the wheels off for some other work,so it was easy to get done.
after painting i used fine steel wool and some Wenol to clean the unpainted parts. also this took care of any drips i had.painting was quicker that the cleaning and polishing!
BTW whay did you think of my homemade spinners?

Robin

I did some masking last night and used some black spray paint to test to see how the wheel would turn out... Well, it turned out great, and looks exactly like yours. I will have to clean up the edges of course, but I think that will be the easiest way to do it.

I have also decided to paint my brake calipers red, like yours. I went to WalMart and found a paint kit from Dupli-color ($16). I will get to that after the wheels.

Homemade spinners? How did you do that?

Robin7TFour, Sorry that it took me so long to get back to you. My job has been keeping me busy! Anyhow, Yes I've been cosidering the same kind of wheels. I was wondering if you could also send me the pictures? Is that possible ?.

Ark , i bought some spinners for a 4 lug wheel at a local flea market. cost me a whopping $5. i unscrewed the spinners and epoxyed 1/4 mounting studs inside the centers. using my old original center caps i drilled another 1/4 hole in the center of the cap. a nut and some #242 locktite....viola custom spinners
