Toying w/ putting an STS turbo in my 98 rag top and have concerns w/ the automatic transmission being able to take the torque >500 ft #'s. anyone out there w/ experience on his subject?

regards

Turbo?

Colin - why not go with a supercharger instead of a turbo? There are many manufacturers that offer superchargers for your LS1 vette.

I have a Z06 and have looked at both TT's and supercharging. What I've come up with is supercharging is a little less expensive for the kits but not by much. I am leaning towards TT. As to your question if your plan is to driving the car on the street and run 5-6 psi and not racing it your trans should be OK unless you have a bunch of miles on it. If you increase boost you will have to upgrade you drive line (engine, trans and rearend). Good luck with your project and keep us updated.

more concerned w/ the heat generated under hood and being in the middle of no where and having the belt part company...........bolt on seems the better of two evils
