I am wondering if any of you have an answer to this question. On Canadian destination shipped C5s the twilight sentinal feature is locked in the ON position and can not be turned off through the DIC as per American cars. Is there a code or sequence that can be used through the DIC to turn this off.

I have been told on some Corvette sites that a dealer can use a computer called a Tech 2. My dealer has never done this or heard of this device. :confused :confused

It is worth a try through the Tech II, which is a GM diagnostic tool that any dealer should have and know how to use.

If your dealer has never even heard of it, run, don't walk from that dealership.

Here is a website link that shows how it is used to add the auto headlamp function:

The reverse would disable that function.

Thanks for the help EHS....and the dealer advice. Have found a shop sup. at another dealer who knows exactly what I am talking about.

Thanks again.....Kim:s :s

Yea It will be a few months since I have the car in my garage keeping warm by the fire....it was minus 15c last night....not much snow , but cold.

I will let all know when I take it in and how I make out........I have spoke to other folks about this headlight thing and they talk about taking the dash apart and putting a resistor in the senser on the dash......if I have to do that I won't be fixing it. It just seems to me though that on the American cars it can be turned on/off through the DIC .....then there has to be a way to reprogram the DIC........Thanks to our goofy Can. Govt. looking after us.:beer

Here's another Canuck that's in the same boat, but a few degrees warmer. Please let us know what works!

That is the "hardware" method that I've heard about -- the car thinks it is daytime all the time. I don't know if there are any other issues involved -- like functioning of the lights or flash to pass.

In any event, the "software" way seems a lot simpler, and just generally cleaner.

You bet .... I will keep you up-dated.:s :s
