I have a 2000 vette and I cannot turn off the twilight lighting feature. Does anyone have any ideas

It's in the DIC...

Press OPTIONS on the DIC until you see TWILIGHT. Press RESET to toggle between on and off.

Welcome to the :CAC . As far as your question - I have an '02 Coupe, in my Vette, you have the option in the DIC to set the delay time or turn it off. I do not know if the '00 is the same. I would look in the dreaded owners manual or simply look at your options in the drivers information center.

I tried Options button but it does not change. Any other advice

You don't by chance have a vette made for Canadian delivery do you? If it is, I don't think you can switch off the twilight sentinel.

It wasn't made in canada, it shows the option but can't set it to off

On another tread someone talked about turning this option on by using a Tech II computer found at a dealer or GM shop. I suppose as a last resort a Tech II could be used to disable it as well.

Does anyone know how to decode the VIN number that will show what fieatures the car came with?

thanks

Look in your glove compartment. Mine has a sticker on it and has all the option codes.

Sounds to me like you have a vette that was meant for shipping to Canada. Your car was not built in Canada....No Corvette is....they are all made at the Bowling Green Kentucky plant.....but if they are ordered by a Canadian Dealer and if it was this is your problem. I have checked this out extensivly and getting a dealer with a tech II is the only way to change this setting. I have talked with a dealer up here in Calgary and they are going to fix this for me in the spring when I am driving my car again.

Seems the Canadian Govt. figures we Canadians are to stupid to turn our headlights on and off. You should get the build sheet and then you will be able to tell where it was ordered from.

I supose you could have another problem.....but I would suspect this!!!!:confused

Good Luck and keep us informed how you make out......Kim

Drewbe,

Have you had any luck with this problem. I for one would like to know how you made out.:cool :w

Twilight vs. Running Light

Folks,

Are twilights and running lights two different issues? My car has those amber running lights on all the time. I'd like to have them "normally" off.

Regards - Remo

Remo - the DRL (daytime running lights) are the amber lights that are always on. Twilight Sentiniel is the option to automaticly turn your lights on when it starts to get dark and keep them on after turning engine off. You can turn the option off, or adjust the delay time for how long they stay on. I have read that you can pull a fuse to disable the DRL. I am not sure which number fuse it is.

Steve,

Thanks for the input. I was pretty sure we were talking about two different things. I selected the twilight business to "off" on day one. As far as I know there is no access to the DRL feature through the DIC. I beleive GM wants them on 7-24.

Thanks - Remo

P.S.:Steer are you going to Carlisle this year?

I haven't made room reservations for Carlisle. I want to go but I'm trying to open a business and don't know if I will have the "free time".

Funny to see this thread - only hours after i bought my Vette the lights popped up after refueling, and since i Hadn't read the manual I had no idea why, or how to retract them - It wasn't dark, only cloudy. really p*ssed me off ; )

A few minutes of scanning the manual and i turned off the twilight function, but not before my girlfriend had some laughs watching me fume about 'the damn defective lights'.
