Download Complete printable PDF document with Photos
Chassis No.: Miles 7419
About This Car
This particular 959 was purchased new by a collector in Japan. The car was imported to the United States and completed the Canepa Design certifiation process before being sold to an executive of a High Tech company in Silicon Valley. It is currently licensed in California for street use and has only 7419 miles.
The Porsche 959 was built to create the ultimate road car and demonstrate the technology of the future. Only 226 of these supercars were built for the world. Their timeless design, state-of-the-art systems, and superior driving characteristics make them still one of the greatest sports cars of all time! Canepa Design was instrumental in the passing of the “show and display” legislation, which allows these sought after vehicles to be driven in the United States for the first time. In addition, Canepa Design has invested five years of research and development to bring this awesome supercar to a new level of performance including California and Federal emissions compliance. An extensive engineering and development process including a new sequential engine management system, Garrett Air Research twin turbo system, stainless exhaust with dual catalytics, upgraded fuel system and wiring harnesses, has resulted in dramatic performance improvements.
In addition the factory magnesium wheels have been modified to accommodate current technology Michelin Pilot Sport 245/45/ZR17 front and 275/40 ZR17 rear low profile speed-rated radial tires. The wheels also include Canepa Design exclusive coating finishes.

The only Porsche other than the 911 GT1 I've ever liked.

Considering my love affair with the C8, you'd be surprised to know the 928 is my least favorite Porsche!

Brandon, the first stick-shift car I ever drove was a Porsche 928S 5-spd.

I remember the shift pattern was a bit diffferent than a Corvette. IIRC, 1st was back down to you and 2nd was up ahead... :W

Also, the e-brake was to your left thigh, like on a C4 :cool

That's cool. I have nothing particularly against the car, I'm just not fond of its styling. I've never driven one. ;shrug

Ask Tom Cruise about them - Afterall, he was the U-Boat Commander ;LOL

...and evidently, Tom Cruise and I have something in common:

This 1979 Porsche 928 is the car that Tom Cruise drove in the movie and also learned to drive a stick shift in with a little help from the producer.
