I have the seats out and am insulating the car when I noticed several lamp cord type electrical lines in the car that are obviously out of place. One is a switch that goes up into the netherlands behind the dashboard on the driver's side that I suspect was part of a kill switch or other component of an aftermarket alarm that I had removed.

The other is a Tyco relay labeled VF4-45F11 that is behind the kickpanel on the driver's side of the car with the wire also going behind the dash. A quick search on the web for this number found one mention of it in relationship to an electric fuel pump, something that my car does not have.

Does anyone know if in fact that this is not part of the car originally and if not, what it would be used for on a car that is basically stock.

I amy just disconnect it when I get the gauges back in and see what impact that has.

Bob,

although it mentions 'fuel pump' in it's wordings, it does not neccesarily have to do anything with a fuel pump. This is just a 24vdc relay. (I commonly utilize relays for industrial applications.)

At any rate, where are the wires connected on the relay? Chances are, it is not being used at all. If you tell me where the wires land on the relay (the numbers), I can at least tell you if it was functioning.

Very common aftermarket 12V relay, often used to wire up auxiliary electric fans, driving lights, kill switches, etc.

Thanks John. My problem is that I don't have any of these things. Could it have been a part of a kill switch in a cheap aftermarket alarm setup?
