I am trying to find out what type of paint to use to do some touch up work. I would like to touch up the center hubs on my rally wheels, the black part. Also there is a chrome strip that runs between the wheels which has a black painted strip. I am also going to try and touch up black part of the interior panels. So can some of you paint guys let me know, should I use lacqure, enamel, gloss, or semi gloss. Should I get paint from the parts places or will any black paint do.

Hi okie:)
I use whats called "detailing paint" Its kinda like Ink and comes in a little bottle
like fingernail polish, Its relativly inexpencive and has to be reapplied from time to time but covers very well and matches "flat black" for places like you described, I use it around my windshield and my wheels and those runner's under
the doors, and the "rubber bumpers" that a 77 has that arent actually rubber at all, ;) , The last bottle i bought was 2.70 and l used about 1/4 of it in a year
I hope this helps
sherry:)

Thanks a lot that sounds exactly like what I need, I will go find some. Thanks again.

Interior paint.

For future ideas....

I used Dupli-Color Flat Black DA1605 (picked it up from Oreilly's)

Cleaned off the bezel realy good with solvent and then painted.

Matches the original exactly.......

Picture available if anyone is interested in the future.

RedVet i would love to see some pic's, I ended up using a semil gloss touch up paint from the parts store and it looks real nice. If you can load up a pic and let me see. Thnaks
