Typical - another delay but at least a good reason
BABY was suppose to have rolled over to the paintbooth yesterday afternoon and than start to get sprayed today. I stopped by today expecting and hoping to see color..........but she isn't in the booth yet. Now Joe tells me he will have her in the booth Monday morning.
It seems that every time he figures the car is ready to roll in he looks it over once more to check it "one last time" and finds a little something he wants to nitpick and fix - either a small area isn't sanded to his complete satisfaction, or a pinhole in the primer he wants to fill in, or...........
On one hand the delays are now driving me crazy with frustration, on the other hand I have to admire Joe for the dedication and commitment to making sure the car is as good as possible down to the most small detail.
A show that i've been looking forward to since last spring is almost here (on May 22) and I told Joe I really need the car back by the 17th so I have time to clean it (interior, engine compartment, etc) and make the show. With this delay now I'm getting very worried I won't make this show. If I don't it won't be the end of the world of course, but I WILL be very disappointed as this is one show that I wanted to be at this year for strong personal reasons.
The doors are now back on the car at least and with a little more of his nitpicking on the car over the weekend it should roll into the booth Monday (keeping my fingers crosssed). That gives us about 1 1/2 weeks to get it sprayed, wetsanded, buffed out, and reassembled. The good news is that with all the new parts the car has Joe is expecting reassembly to go pretty smooth without many problems.
This is going to be a longggggggggg weekend waiting for Monday. :eyerole
