Hey,
My remote has been working now for a few weeks and suddenly it has stopped working properly. If I relearn the remote (and the horn honks) and then walk away for 10 minutes, or even 2 minutes and come back to unlock the car, I get no response. The battery is new in the remote, the signal from the remote is ok (checked with an actual tool to check output signal at work) but the car seems to forget the remote signal. Help?

HI there,
It is possible that the receiver is losing its rolling code memory.
It has happened from time to time.
Probably, you will have to replace the receiver.

I had a remote to the same thing and I replace the fob and all was good. My neighbor has a 99 as well and I was able to borrow a remote from him to determine whether the problem was with the remote or the car.

Alright, where is the receiver located in the car? I'd like to try and unplug it for ten minutes and then plug it back in to see if it resets itself. Sometimes that works on the volvo's. Thanks for your advice guys !
