I am finally putting in a switch for my under hood lights…where is the best place to mount the switch and splice into the pink and white wire? or A common ground wire for the two. I don’t want to have to put in a toggle for each side, I rather just one. I have to unplug each side in order for both lights to go off.

I would imagine there should be a point on the drivers side. There is a whole loom of wires there. Try tracking the wires back from the lights. I will try to look at mine and see if anything jumps out at me. I done know why you cant use the same ground it already has. If not there should be many places for a ground if you choose to use a new one.

Good luck

Warren...I understand that...I am looking for the best location to get at that wire without having to rip all the tape and plastic conduit off the harnesses.
DUH, sorry.

I mounted my switch on my 95 in a portion of the black PVC wire loom with only the toggle sticking out. THere was a place between the headlight area and the hood where the wire wasnt cliped down.

You can tap into the wires as they run along the driver's wheel well, and mount the switch on the wheelwell itself near the brake master cylinder. That's what I did - drilled a small hole through the plastic inner wheel well liner and screwed the switch in there. I can take a picture showing that and the wiring splices, if you want.

One wire (orange, I think) is common to the two lights.

And whatever you do, don't put the switch by the headlights! They need a surprising amount of room to rotate, and I caught my fan relay and wiring in the left side one...

JonM,

Glad you got it fixed. It is something on my to do list. However that list is pretty long.

Hey guys, let's see some pic's of the different mounting and wiring solutions. I just ended up unpluging mine and never pluged em back in. :w
