well, here is an update for everyone who has given me all your wonderful and kind support.
I dropped off the car at my shop this morning. About a 2 hour drive to get there but that's ok, it was a beautiful day for a drive and BABY was running great. Not sure how long she will be there so it was nice to have this last drive until i see her again.
When I got there the shop told me the insurance people have already been in contact with them and will be there on Mon to look at BABY.
The shop is going to make sure the insurance company isn't going to try to cut corners. None of the "cheap" business of them saying "well, you can straighten out this support bracket instead of us buying a new one". My shop is going to make sure this repair is done CORRECTLY. Since they are the ones who sold me the car (just 4 weeks ago yesterday) they know precisely the condition that car was in and the way it needs to be returned to me. Thank god for these guys! I can't say enough good things about them. Keith, the shop owner, told me that when he heard about my phone call into them the other morning explaining what happened he got a lump in his chest because he knew how nice the car had been , plus how much getting BABY meant to me.
Anyway, I should hear from Keith by the end of Monday to know the extent of the damage and what the insurance guy said. I'll keep everyone posted.

BTW, got to see the progress on c5vetters LADY and the meet Rick. Lady is looking awesome and it was great to meet someone from here.
Rick, I can't wait to see LADY's progress again when I go back to get BABY when she is done. In the meantime, LADY and BABY are keeping each other company. :)

Hi barry, that sounds Like Shes going to get a great repair, "im sure that makes you feel a gazillion times better"..Its always a good thing to know a repair shop that not only cares for the vettes but for the customers happiness as well
Im sure you'll be out there :Steer her in no time at all:)
When i had mine repaired it took them 4 days just to get her in the shop:eyerole
Congrads on having a great mechanic
and HAPPY EASTER!!!
Sherry:)

Sherry,
Luckily, I have not only a great mechanic, but better, a great VETTE mechanic. This place does awesome restorations so a simple repair like mine they can do in their sleep. Well, i hope they will be awake for it but you understand......... :L

Barry,

Just got off the phone with Tony this fine Easter AM - he estimates 200 more hours of work and LADY will be finished! Of course, he didn't give an estimate of $$$$, but I am sure it will hurt! (VBG)

It's only money. That's what I keep telling my wife. :D

Heaven,

got rid of the wife years ago, so it's just "me, myself, and I" that argues about money! but, I keep telling myself the same thing - it's only money, and I am preserving a piece of history - looks like I call either the stock broker to sell some stock or the bank to get the equity line of credit extended a few thousand dollars (sic!)

Rick

you knew what you were getting into when you bought her and dropped her off to Tony......but yes, i'm sure it hurts!!!
I'm not into BABY anywhere close that you have into LADY and it sure hurt me when I had to write that check. Oh h**L, what are we going to do, die with the money? Might as well enjoy it while we can.
Besides, when you see LADY all finished and looking looking as beautiful as she is going to be, it will be worth every penny - expecially after you take home all those judging awards.

BTW, I checked my PV testing manual for you. You DO need a qualifying Top Flight award first before going into the PV testing so you will want to arrange and schedule your PV testing accordingly at the event.

P.V. application doesn't require a Top Flight award - any Flight award will do, including Second or Third Flight, as long as it was achieved within the preceding three years by the current owner.

John
thanks for the correction. You are very right. I READ it right in the book but my mind added the "TOP" part of the flight award for some reason.
Well, seeing LADY in progress and how she looks I have no doubts Rick we be getting a TOP Flight award anyway! :beer
