The garage just called...bad alternator wire. total cost for that and to recharge battery between $70-80
I feel pretty relieved esp since i don't live near this place and I certainly could have been gouged. Nice to know there are good guys out there!

Great to hear. My first vette experience a week after I bought it involved the brakes and was substantially more than that.

That makes me not want to drive for at least a week!

Did things settle after a rough start for you?

Somewhat. I probably got carried away wanting to fix everything right away and paid someone to do work I could have done myself. The last couple of years haven't been bad. I've done most of the work myself.

This year the car got new trailing arms and is being painted. You don't even want to know this year's damage. ;)

Lori..Great!! Only $70......Did you pick it up yet?? Lets get some engine pics......Guess your ready for an extended cruise at this point with the radio blasting and the windows down!!!!

Sounds like a good omen. Hope all your hiccups are as small, easy to find/fix and cheap.

And get this...I heard from the seller (he called and left a message as well).....

That’s great. Let me know when you get the bill and I will work something out. Again I am truly very sorry this happened especially during your First trip. With that done, I am in hopes that your future experiences in the vette, like mine, will be fun ones .

I just knew he was a good guy!!
I even managed to register the car and get plates, despite the fact that Maine doesn't issue titles on 20 yr old cars, luckily the seller had letters from the state of maine indicating that, or I would have not had much luck - maybe the tide is turning!

Lori,

Good things happen to good people. The corvette gods are looking out for you. Remember, everything happens for a reason. Ready to rock & roll now. :_rock

You should see if he'll foot half the bill for a full body off resto, that will test his down east yankee meddle!

LOL I think his money is all ready spent on his '69 vette restoration.

With independent suspension you have two arms that attach to the frame and trail back. The wheels, springs, half shafts, shocks, etc. attach to the other end creating the independent rear suspension. Look form the back inside the rear wheels to the frame and you can't miss them.
