Now that pictures of the convertible are out and I've had more time to digest the pictures of the coupe, my opinon of the C6 hasn't really changed. This next generation of Corvette....rocks.:_rock

The C5 took quite a while to grow on me, but the C6 has not. Yes, I do realize, that there are many similarities between the appearance of the C5 and the C6, but I REALLY like what they've done with the front and rear end design. I like the fact that GM is continuing to keep the y-car platform on Jenny Craig and the interior is impressive.

I'm still anxious to see what Corvette engineering has in store for us with the "Z06". Performance of the base model C6 is quite impressive. I have a feeling the Z06 version will kick some butt.

Would I sell my current Vette for a C6? No.

The ZR-1 still has me wrapped around its 32 valves. There's just something about that Vette that warms my veins and tickles my driving senses.

The weather here in Northern VA is finally improving and I got a chance to take the ole beast out for a long drive a couple weeks ago after hibernating since November.

The chassis flex still makes me grimace every now and then. The radio rattle in the dash annoys me until the interior heats up, but the car still looks killer with that big butt, sounds like a bat out of hell at WOT, and still sucks my eyeballs into the back of my head.

There will be a C6 parked next to the ole beast someday however. Just need to get a bigger garage. ;)

Rob,

(Humble Recant)

When the first pics of the C6 came out I said that the car suck the big Kahuna. But now it has begun to grow me somewhat. Guess I was a little rash as the Vert really does look pretty nice. Don't think I can afford one for awhile but if someone gave me one I wouldn't turn them down. I still think GM could have done a little more detailing in the interior but the shape of the outside is beginning to become more bearable the longer I see it.

I have liked the C6 from day one. I admit that I was releived that it didn't look like a cross between a celica and an Aztek as I had half expected. I will not pretend that I got that same feeling in the pit of my stomach that I had when I first saw the the pics of the (then) new '63 Sting Ray or when I first saw the Corvette Indy. But I like the C6 looks very much and I can't wait to be forced to make my color choice!

The C6 is a nice evolution of the C5. Although its not enough to get me to part with my existing ride its still a fine example of the Corvette..

If my present car was wrecked or had enough miles that I needed to replace it..I wouldn't hestitate to buy a C6 Z51..

Its a dam impressive package and the new C6 Z06 to be released next January should be even more so!

I have a deposit on the C6 and will order when it can be done.

Rob, I don't own a ZR-1 but I understand your passion for it. I was lucky enough in 1989 to have Chevrolet loan me a 1989 to display and show to the NCRS. Yes, there really was a 1989 ZR-1, it just never made it to production. I can still hear those great chain driven cam sounds today. It did stir the soul. The next time you are out winding it up, take along a tape recorder and get those sounds so you can listen to it when not driving.

Sell the stinkin Ford then you will have lots of room for a C6 and one more bonus no more oil pools on the floor.
