Upgrade window regulators

Upgrade window regulators?

Has anyone done this? Upgrade from the ribbon style to the later style which is much faster and more reliable....
If so is there anything you need to watch out for? I think I am going to take the doors apart one more time and replace the driverside regulator and adjust the windiw to stop the leak now that it has new rubber all around. Thanks...

I had it done. (didn't do it myself). works much better and probably wont break again. you need to remove alot of stuff to get it in. then remount the glass to the new mechanism.

I had to do that on my 84 a long time ago . Ribbons weren't available nor was the old style assembly . I had to drill new holes and all . I was a little worried , but it came out fine . Cliff

I did both mine...the hardest part is drilling the holes upside down...the new regulator comes with a templet. Here is a site to help you.
