I just got a 1978 silver anniversary corvette. My goal is to install an EFI system from Holley or Accel. But my conern is that i will have to get rid of the stock vacum system.

So
1. will i be able to keep it?
2. if not, can i live without it?
3. can i replace the headlamp vacum actuators with an after market servo activator?

I'm new to the corvette game. So take it easy on me here.

My goal is to have a classic daily driver with late model power and comfort. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Either system will still provide the same level of manifold vacuum you have now - no problem, no need to change any vacuum-operated components. :beer

I am running EFI on my big block and it has nothing to do with the vacuum. The vacuum will be affected by the cam, heads, compression, and tuning.

I have a kit developed to change the headlights to electric. I am out of the driver side brackets at the moment so I can't build anymore.

Keep an eye out for that and save up your bucks so that when I get another supply, we can add you to the list.

Thanks guys. Your answers have helped me alot. But now i'm not sure exactly where the vacum preasure comes from. I was under the assumption that the carb drawing air out of the intake was responsible for it but i guess this is wrong. If anyone can tell me how the system works i would be thankful.
