I just had my oil pressure switch changed this weekend as well as my climate controll head. So this is a two part question. The car seems to be running fine but I hear what sounds like a vacume leak comeing from the intake manifold area. I removed the covers and all the lines seem to be ok but its kinda loud. You can here it with the hood closed. Sounds like a vacume leak.. I got a check engine light but when I checked the PCM it said its b/c I removed the horn relay. Thats a whole seperate post though. The second part to this question is after the climate controll head was changed the ac is blowing threw the front windshield and some out through the front vents.. On the head I can change the mode and it changes ok but the air doesnt blow to the feet or the windows ect. Is that vacume driven? Anyways thanks in advance for your help.

My car is a 97 auto with the digital climate controll. The work does have warrenty but belive me I would rather fix it my self. The shop I took the car to was scarry... I dont like to talk about anyone so I'll keep my comments to my self about that shop.. Again any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,
It sounds like they left the vacuum source hose off the rear of the intake manifold. This would create both the concerns that you speak of.
Unfortunately, you will have to have them reconnect it, as this is at the back of the intake.

Do they need to remove the intake manifold to do this? Thanks once again.. Any chance you have a pic of that hose installation?

Hi there,
Unless you have very small fingers, yes, you will have to remove the intake.
If you reference the diagram, directly below #3 you will find the port that the vacuum hose connects to.
The hose is inside the wiring harness, directly below #3.

Thanks once again. One more question.. They just replaced my oil pressure sender b/c both guages were displaying max readings for oil pressure. It worked ok for about 2 days now its messed up again. Could it be a bad sender again or could something be shorting that sender. Like I said after they changed it it worked for about 2 days...

c4c5, Thanks for your help. Once again you were right. They fixed the ac and the vacume leak. It was that hose that was loose. They also had to replace the oil pressure sender once again. Can something else be shorting the oil pressure sensor or was it just my luck that the new one went bad in two days..

Vacuum Hose

That hose is a pain in the you know what. When I replaced my intake, I kept putting my fingers back there to make sure it stayed on. It did, but I was sure worried about it. C4/c5specialist nice one.
